I miss the days of grabbing a greasy burger and having a face-to-face chat.. No pretense. Just a pure talk-to me kinda moment. Now, everyone wants to Skpe. You live 3 blocks away, buddy! Make some effort. Have we become that disconnected or socially awkward? In all our desires to "connect" and stay connected, we've forgotten the importance of physical human interaction. Lol's and a :) can't replace the sound of your contagious or goofy laughter that helps complete your crazy story, right? :)
Our priorities are half-ass backwards.
Take a moment and think about the person you've interacted with the most on social media this past week. Have you ever had lunch or dinner with this person? If so, when was the last time? I understand some of your "friends" are just online contacts. However, what about people you actually believe to be your friends? And if you've gotten together within the past 30 days, that's truly promising. I believe many will find that it's been a lot longer.
Let's throw one more element in the fire: Have you always been the one to initiate the outing? I'm personally working on being a better friend, but the hiccup occurs with deciphering who my "friends" actually are.
How do you balance this craziness?
